Since August 2023, we — Beni and Sandra Rhyner with our two boys Luis and Pius — have been the tenant family of the Empächli ski and camp house.
We live in Engi, two villages before Elm. In the winter months, running the ski house is our main task. In summer we are mostly on the Empächli alp with the boys, which we run together with Beni's brother and his family. During this time our guests cook for themselves or are catered for by the Schabell restaurant — we handle cleaning and handover on site.
We take your wishes and concerns seriously and try wherever possible to accommodate them and to shape your stay according to your needs.
Two wishes from our side
Please take good care of our ski house during your stay. Only then is it a pleasure for us to keep it well maintained and to hand it over to you always in perfect condition.
The appreciation of the landscape of our mountain valleys is also important to us — and of the people who shape and tend it. Our mountain farmers protect the alpine regions through sustainable management, against scrub encroachment and debris flows, and turn them into a landscape rich in biodiversity, loved and valued by many visitors.
Recreational areas such as our valleys offer today — and not just dense forests and bushes where, apart from a few animal tracks and avalanche channels, there is no way through — are indispensable as a counterbalance to the urban areas. When such outstanding products as alpine cheese, butter, quark and meat are added, the result is a cycle that is indispensable to our mountain region.
